Ok, so I'm Ash. I'm a bit goofy, and shy, too, I guess. I'll be fifteen June sixth, so I'm currently fourteen and a ninth grader. I've been roleplaying since I was, like, eleven. And I love animals, I have three dogs, Pixie, who is a two year old Pomeranian, Pekingese, Long Haired Chihuahua mix, as well as Chance who is a hound mix and he could be considered Pixie's "mommy" (she's HIS puppy :P ). Lastly be have Lucky, who is a German Shepherd, Labrador Retriever mix and the wise old man of our "pack." All of our dogs, except Pixie are from our local rescue.
Let's see, I've always wanted to be a vet, but I'm conflicted because of how easy it is to slip up and that's that. Anyway, I read like mad and all (aka much too quickly). I can name a whole lot of dog breeds of the top of my head etc. So this is who I am!

Oh yes! Avid reader and dog lover here too!!! I also read doggy books, hahaha. Have you read The Culture Clash by Jean Donaldson? If reading a series of essays on dog behavior interests you, I highly recommend! I found her readable, some find her acerbic.

I'll try to look into that book ^^ I've tried to read Inside of a Dog by Alexandra Horowitz. It just takes a while to work through because there's literally several words I have to think about on every page. I'll have to go back on that now until I can find The Culture Clash at the library. It's been a year, after all :P

Oh, if the jargon is what got you hung up, then Donaldson's book is definitely far more readable! I didn't enjoy Inside of a Dog too much (didn't even finish it, lol). But I've read The Culture Clash a million times over. If you don't like the author's writing style, at least read the chapter with the Gorns. I think that that chapter is the easiest for the layman to get. I also read books that are less technical. Lol. I enjoy any well-written book, so we can compare book recommendation lists. The only genre that I have trouble getting into is animal fiction though

See, I had to practically force myself to look for other books when I got into 6th grade because I was so focused on animal fiction and they had nothing of the sort in the library. Now I'm cured :P I prefer more towards the side of fiction, and quite a few books by Tamora Pierce.

I read anything, hahaha. I like nonfiction, and fiction the same. The only requirement I have is that the book is well-written and the characters are interesting.

@stella, my mom gives me a look too. And gets irratated since we go to the library quite a lot during the week. @quirky Tea, I prefer it when there's the fantasy in the mix with the fiction books that I read (as well as the more complex characters).
