Personality: Emery has a very strong personality, she doesn’t allow herself to be bullied, even though she prefers to stay away from unnecessary confrontation. She would like to live a laid-back, carefree, fun life and won’t go out of her way to jeopardize that. Emery speaks what she thinks and believes, but never in a horrible way, as long as she can help it. However, Emery, if goaded on, can be aggressive when she feels threatened and isn’t afraid to fight to protect herself and Finch, though she is a little more hesitant to hurt anything or anyone than may be good for her.
She is okay with solitude as long as she has Finch with her. Emery makes an effort to get to know other dogs as she passes them, and always attempts to appear friendly to make her new acquaintances comfortable.
Emery is more comfortable making her own decisions, but if she were to join a pack, she would’t hesitate to let someone else take control. She believes that making decisions for herself and Finch is the best thing for them, but wouldn’t be sure of herself with so many other lives to make decisions for.

History: Emery was born to an exceptionally small litter, considering that German Shepherds tend to whelp between 5 and 10 puppies in a litter. It had been a particularly frigid spring, as winter was unusually long. Her brother Ripley, one other pup and Emery were the only ones born alive. The other pup was a runt and soon died because he was so small and weak. Emery’s father stayed with her mother until the puppies were older. Orion preferred to spend time with his only son, teaching him to be strong and fast. Emery often spent time with her mother, they roamed the island together. This is probably where Emery became accustomed to wandering, and never really staying in one place.
When she was two, Emery got separated from her family, and spent days looking for them. It was soon apparent that she wouldn’t find them and she was too hungry and tired to go on with her search. So she adapted to her new way of life. Finch and Emery work as a great team while hunting and developed a system that allowed them to eat well, while not excessively and wastefully.
Emery never did find anyone in her family again, but has moved on after six months without them.
