The dogs are all on the island. I want to know if there are still pets being dumped on the mainland (maybe like getting discovered and then shipped to the island?) or at least how many generations the dogs have been here. Or the people on the mainland need permits if they have show dogs or something. I think this will allow for more flexibility with the histories and also to counter-act the problem of a genetic bottleneck and lack of variation. If the dogs were indeed kept on the island for several generations they would all be the same color and of medium size and build, short haired, and all. I asked because I accepted some bios that have two-breed crossbreeds, which had show dogs as parents :3

Well. The dogs have been on the island about 50 years. And it took atleast 30 years for all the dogs to be found and shipped out. So some generations have been there 50 years, while some are as young as 20. So that will be okay. But there are no dogs on the main-land, that the people know of. Though once in a while we could have a dog that was newly shopped to Agwang since they where hiding away.

OK, I'll PM people's bios I've accepted with that as a history.
How about the humans ship dogs around from other islands to keep the genetic information fresh?

Oh, that sound interesting. I like it. They could send, lets say 5 dogs every other month?

Yup Sounds good. Like if you look at other animals that have been separated from the mainland, they are rife with genetic disorders. Humans are knowledgeable about this, so I do think it makes sense that they would think of doing this. This can also account for dogs that aren't as completely mixed up as the others and increases variability for appearance. I will just PM the relevant people to this thread and ask them to make small edits to their histories.
