Personality: Marlee is quiet and serious, with no end to her determination and mental strength. When she makes decisions, she sticks by them, and not many other dogs can coax her into changing her mind. Saying this, she respects authority enough to thrive in a pack way of life. Pain and discomfort is hardly ever enough to get her to back down or shy away. She loves challenges. It's difficult to earn the respect of Marlee, as she only views the strong and resilient as worthy of it, with a few exceptions. She hates weakness, and will not allow herself to show that she has any. Marlee may have some maternal traits hidden deep within her, but she doesn't know how to deal with such innocent, dependable animals. It's the one flaw in the humans plan for her to pass on the resistance gene.
If ever presented with the situation, Marlee would probably be a good mother in her own way. For one, she would be firm and would teach them right from wrong as soon as they could see and hear. She would teach them a balanced way of living, as she lives, not too much and not too little of anything.
In simple terms, Marlee is very strong and independent and will not stand to be demeaned in any way.
Family: Shazera - Mother
Aspen - Father
History: Marlee was brought up in Numidia. Her mother was a purebred Siberian Husky imported from Alaska where she had been used for dog-sled racing. Her father was also a Purebred Husky, but he was used for therapy work after he was retired from showing. The humans brought them together to create a healthy litter for showing or to be sent back to Alaska for dog-sledding. Soon after, the owners were called on from the government, as Shazera and Aspen had appeared to have a gene that resisted contamination by the virus that had plagued both humans and their pets. Shazera and Aspen were taken into custody and while Shazera was pregnant, Aspen was used to breed with other females to hopefully pass on the gene.
Marlee was the fittest, and most instinctively driven out of all of the pups after three years of careful conditioning and nurturing. It took a long time for them to feel sure that she was right for the job, but when she turned five, they were confident and sent her with three other dogs to the island.
Marlee still hasn't found her soul, but has dealt without it for a long time. She is sufficient by herself.
