Seeing Sky's reaction to Missy, it can be that Sky's reaction hid the fact that Missy had stopped her attack (really, if Missy was fully intending on killing Sky, just getting out of the way wouldn't cut it, lol). I think that this can have Sky mistrust Missy, so that would explain why she's suspicious of her and that can reveal that she killed a dog through investigation. And the next time she "snaps" Sky would be ready and can wrestle her to the ground until she calms down enough to mind herself.
